Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information the Global Board of Technical & Professional Education collects through this website, why it is collected, how long it is kept, and who it is shared with. It applies to this website and to the online services reached through it.

From institutes applying for affiliation or assessment centre registration: the institute's name, address, district and contact details; its registration, tax and bank particulars; details of its premises, classrooms, workshops and equipment; the names, qualifications and employment dates of its teaching and non-teaching staff; and the name, CNIC number and mobile number of its head.

Documents you upload — registration certificates, lease agreements, bank and tax records, layout plans, affidavits, photographs of premises, and bank-stamped fee challans.

From candidates for employment with the Board: your name, contact details, curriculum vitae and any supporting documents you choose to send.

From anyone using the enquiry form: your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

To carry out the Board's functions: assessing applications for affiliation and assessment centre registration, arranging and recording verification visits, issuing and verifying certificates, maintaining the public register of affiliated institutes, collecting fees, and answering enquiries. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

The CNIC of an institute's head is collected because it identifies the person accountable for the application and appears on the fee challan. It is used for identification and for preventing duplicate registrations, and for nothing else.

With the verification team appointed to visit your premises — a qualified trade assessor and a Board member — so far as is necessary to conduct the visit. With the Board's bank, so that a fee deposit can be matched to your challan. With regulatory authorities where the Board is required to report, and with any authority entitled to the information by law.

Information published in the public register is limited to the institute's name, city, registration number, status, validity dates and approved trades. Your documents, staff lists and inspection reports are never published, and the names of the verification team are not disclosed.

While you are filling in an application, your answers are saved in your own browser so that you can leave and return without losing your work. This information stays on your device and is not sent to the Board until you submit. Clearing your browser data removes it. Uploaded files are never saved this way.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not profile visitors.

The contact page embeds a map supplied by Google, and the site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When these load, your browser contacts Google's servers and Google may record your IP address under its own privacy policy. Links to the Board's social media accounts take you to services operated by other companies, whose policies apply once you leave this site.

Information is transmitted over an encrypted connection and access is limited to Board staff who need it for their work. CNIC numbers are stored in a protected form. Every change to an application's status is recorded with the identity of the officer who made it.

No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that affects your information, the Board will inform those affected and the relevant authorities without undue delay.

Records of affiliation, registration and certification are kept permanently, because a certificate must remain verifiable for the holder's working life. Application documents are kept for as long as the affiliation continues and for a period afterwards, so that a decision can be explained if it is questioned. Recruitment records for unsuccessful candidates are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

You may ask what information the Board holds about you, ask for a factual error to be corrected, and ask for information to be deleted where the Board is not required to keep it. Write to the Board using the contact details below. The Board cannot delete records it is obliged to retain — an issued certificate, for example, must stay verifiable.

This policy may be updated as the Board's services develop. The date it was last changed is shown at the top of this page.
